Lana Del Rey's Style

Making all the hipster boys swoon and all the girls jealous, Lana Del Rey has a style that is all her own. She reminds us of decades past with her demure, classy 60s-inspired dresses, 70s style sweaters and skinny jeans, and her authentic 80s bad girl looks. And those beautiful locks! Her hair is always done in a vintage style: beehives, long 40s-esque waves, or middle-parted 70s straight style. Let's not forget the impeccable make-up, outrageous nails, and hip hop accessories.

To say that Lana Del Rey is like any other pop star these days is a lie. She has a style that is unique and retro, and her talent far surpasses many other so-called artists on the scene today. Let's hear it for talent and authenticity...maybe we could snag a little bit of inspiration from Lana's style and create our own?

Demure, Vintage-inspired Dresses

One of the quintessential items in Lana Del Rey's wardrobe is the vintage-style dress. Some of her choices remind me of the Mad Men show. 60s' New Look circle-skirt dresses and shirt-waiste dresses are all the rage with Lana, and should be with us too!

Here are some places online where you can find the perfect vintage-inspired dress that is also reminiscent of Lana's style:

  • pinupgirlclothing.com
  • babygirlboutique.com
  • mybabyjo.com
  • modcloth.com

Even Forever 21 carries retro-style dresses these days, so pick a cute sundress with eyelet details or a sexy bombshell evening dress with sequin detail. You just can't go wrong with a vintage-inspired dress. These dresses are timeless and scream Lana Del Rey's style. Pair your vintage-inspired dress with a basket-purse and stilettos and you will be one hott dame.

Gangster Nancy Sinatra Style

Lana Del Rey is a self-proclaimed "gangster Nancy Sinatra", and who can blame her for that? A flirty yet rebellious 60s style is one that Lana Del Rey pulls off rather easily. Here are some options for you to create a Gangster Nancy Sinatra look like Lana Del Rey's:

  • plaid a-line skirts
  • 70s-inspired or 70s vintage sweaters and cardigans
  • knee-high socks
  • mary jane shoes or flats
  • knee-high boots

To add the Lana Del Rey "gangster" part to this look, complete your outfit with gold chains around your neck, gold rings, and a lot of bling. Red lipstick, big hair, and fishnet stockings will really show off your gangster bad-girl side.

I like her wardrobe choices, but she'd be much more appealing if she smiled more. Frankly, IMHO that dead-fish staring look doesn't help sell anything.

All the same, very interesting article!

Wonderful hub. She is quite the gorgeous gal, and you do her justice between your specific suggestions and the visuals. Nice job. Aww, if I were 20 years younger I would try to achieve her look, but unfortunately I am not. Well done!
