I’m a watch collector on a budget. My timepieces range from an elderly mechanical Luch—which was produced so cheaply it didn’t even come with a second hand—to a mid-priced Citizen Eco-Drive and a chronometer equipped with a Seagull movement.
Over the last few years, I’ve also picked up several smartwatches. Mostly I’ve avoided the thick and bulky timepieces that feature built-in phones and can play content from Netflix. They tend to be awkward to use and extremely hard on batteries.
I’m more interested in the relatively inexpensive timepieces, which include functions that are practical and easy to use. I want a watch that counts my steps during my morning run and continuously monitors my heartbeat.
Today, I am taking a close look at Kospet’s newest watch, the Tank M1.
The Kospet Tank weighs in at two ounces. It is 2.2 inches high, 1.7 inches across, and 0.47 inches thick. This timepiece, mainly composed of metal and plastic, features two interchangeable silicone straps.
A rechargeable 380mAh battery powers this device’s RealTek8762DK CPU.
It boasts a large 1.72 TFT touch screen with a pixel count of 280 x 320. Two control buttons are located on the watch’s right-hand edge.
The Tank M1 is typically linked to the user’s cellphone via Bluetooth and its companion application. This watch provides time, date, and weather information while monitoring the wearer’s heartbeat and providing a step count. It can also check the user’s blood pressure and blood oxygen. Using Da Fit, the companion application, several different watch faces may be selected.
Two straps, a USB-C charging cable, plastic screen protection, and a user’s manual are provided with this watch.

The Kospet Tank M1 conforms to MIL-STD 810G-516-6. This standard refers to shock tests performed by dropping an object repeatedly from a height of four feet onto a plywood-covered cement surface.
This watch is rated 5ATM. It is water-resistant up to a depth of 50 meters and can be worn during low-velocity and shallow-water activities such as swimming.
It also is certified IP69K. The Tank M1 is fully resistant to dust and protected against close-range high pressure, high-temperature spray.
These specifications suggest this watch would benefit construction workers and those who participate in activities in which the timepiece might be subjected to shock, spraying water, and extreme temperature change.
Through the Da Fit application, this timepiece can establish a Bluetooth connection with a phone.
The Tank M1 features a 1.72-inch TFT display boasting a resolution of 280 x 320 pixels.
Display brightness may be dimmed to conserve power or increased to provide the illumination necessary during a sunny day. If theatre mode is selected, the display is dimmed, and the phone’s vibration alert is disabled.
Two pushbuttons and a smoothly reacting touchscreen allow easy operation of this watch. Several aspects of its management can be controlled using the companion application.
The Tank M1 may be set to monitor your heartbeat continuously. The information provided appears to be accurate.
This device can also be used to measure blood pressure. However, the results were lower than the numbers provided by my medically approved blood pressure monitor. Consider this watch’s blood pressure reading to be an early warning sign. If, at some point, the results from this measurement are higher than expected, you should cease strenuous physical activity and test again with a proper blood pressure monitor.
The Kospet Tank can also measure blood oxygen. I, unfortunately, lack the resources to test the accuracy of this reading.
This watch features 24 different exercise modes and collects data in the form of exercise time, distance, and the number of steps. The Tank M1 also estimates calories burned.
A weather report may be accessed when linked to a phone via Bluetooth and the Da application, and notifications can be transferred to the watch. An onboard player may be used to control the music played over your phone. Additional functions include a sleep monitor and a sedentary reminder.
Although only eleven watch faces may be immediately accessed using the phone, this selection can be updated from the extensive collection available through the DA Fit application.
Da Fit Application
This program is required to set up the Tank M1 and provide a Bluetooth connection between the watch and your phone. It provides plenty of information and allows the operator to adjust the various features of the associated watch. The Da Fit application may also be linked to Google Fit.
This watch is fitted with a 380mAh lithium polymer battery capable of powering the timepiece for 7-10 days of regular use. It requires approximately 2.5 hours to recharge using the included USB cable with its magnetic charging connector.
Battery life is decent, and a larger than usual display ensures I can determine the time and date despite my old and tired eyes. The primary screen even keeps track of my heartbeat and notes the step number I’ve reached as I stride briskly along on my morning walk.
The Tank is a very sturdy watch with the ability to handle sudden shocks, dust, and water. This is the timepiece I could confidently wear during my infrequent camping trips. If you are searching for a watch that can handle the rigors that go hand-in-hand with an active lifestyle, the Kospet Tank M1 should be at the top of your list.
