5 Home Remedies to Remove Dandruff

Dandruff is the most common problem faced by almost everyone. There are mainly two types of dandruff. One is the dry flaky dandruff which spreads from one to another very easily and is more common. It is also very visible and can be seen on the shaft of your hair. It also causes acne and pimples on the face and back. Many times, it causes a lot of embarrassment to the person as it tends to fall on the shoulders. The second type of dandruff is the oily sticky dandruff which is mainly caused by excess oil secretion on your scalp. As the name suggests, it sticks to your scalp and not visible to others. This type of dandruff is very difficult to remove as it is stuck on your scalp.

The good news is that both these types of dandruff can be removed effectively at home with natural ingredients. 2. Shampoo Brush

A shampoo brush is a very effective way of cleaning your scalp. You can get this on any online shopping website and is also at a very reasonable price. These have soft silicone bristles which do not hurt your scalp. After applying shampoo to your hair, massage your scalp with this brush (not applying too much pressure) and then wash off your hair with water. It provides intense deep cleaning which is much more effective than using your fingers.

3. Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple Cider Vinegar has many benefits and is used for multiple purposes. It works wonders for your hair and scalp if used properly. Mix 1 spoon of vinegar with 1 spoon of filtered water and apply this all over your scalp with a cotton pad. Leave it for half an hour and then shampoo your hair. For best results, use once every week. You will see noticeable results in 1-2 weeks.

4. Proper Oiling

The way you oil your hair is very important. Never using oil or even excessive oiling can damage your hair and cause various scalp-related problems. To get maximum benefits of oiling, apply and keep it overnight and shampoo your hair the next morning. If you are unable to keep it overnight, you can also apply 1 hour before shampooing. Take a little bit of oil and add 2-3 drops of Rosemary Essential oil. Warm the oil a little bit, not too much, and then apply all over your scalp with your fingers or a cotton bud. Gently massage your scalp for 5-10 minutes as it will improve blood circulation in your scalp and reduce hair fall. Rosemary Essential oil is very effective for treating dandruff and hair fall.

5. Hair Masks

Hair masks have been used for ages and are one of the best remedies to improve your scalp and hair health. It is very relaxing and soothes your scalp. The most effective hair mask for dandruff is curd and honey. Mix curd and honey and apply it all over your scalp and hair. Keep it for 1 hour and then shampoo your hair. Curd is an excellent conditioner and this mask will make your hair strong and silky and is very effective in cleaning your scalp. It also soothes your scalp and reduces irritation and redness.
