Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask
This is one of those products that I have had my eyes on for a very long time. And the reason why I couldn’t make myself purchase it was because there were so many polarizing reviews on the internet. Either people hated it or loved it. So it actually took me three months to get myself to click the Buy button to try it out for myself.
Another reason why I decided to go ahead with my purchase is that I had already tested out so many lip care products, but nothing seemed to work. When I saw a great deal on this product, I thought to myself, even if this didn’t work out, I wouldn’t have much to lose. But what if it works? Was I happy with my decision?
About Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask
This lip sleeping mask is a leave-on overnight lip mask that hydrates and soothes the lips to leave them feeling smoother and more supple. The term "nutrient-rich balm" is simply a way of expressing that it works while you sleep, but I found that one can apply it any time of the day.
In one pot, it contains all of the beneficial ingredients you might want in a balm: moisturizing hyaluronic acid, brightening vitamin C, and antioxidants that work together to build a protective barrier over your lips, keeping moisture in.
Plus, it comes in a bunch of different flavors, which is great. The most popular one seems to be the one that comes in a pink color container, their berry flavor.
My Personal Opinion
When it comes to lip products, I'm looking for something that won't make my lips drier but is also low-maintenance as well. For most of the products out there, it's too much work to scoop, clean, wipe, rinse, and repeat. I'm looking for something simple that I can throw on and forget about. After a long list of disappointing lip products, I have finally managed to find something that I like and which actually works.
If you have really dry lips, want smoother lips, or enjoy berry-scented lip balm, Laneige's Lip Sleeping Mask is a must-have for you. My lips' overall moisture level and texture have improved significantly due to using this product. It is well worth the money. Definitely go for it!
How to Use The Product
In the evening, using an applicator (in my case, my finger, as the applicator didn’t come with the 8 gm container), apply a generous amount of hydrating lip mask to the lips and allow it to sit there overnight. In the morning, gently wipe off or cleanse with a gentle cleanser. For me, the second step is not really required, as the product mostly just absorbs into my skin.

Pros of Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask
- The 8gm bottle lasts a long time
- The packaging is travel-friendly
- The product performs well as per its claims
- It gets absorbed easily in 20-30 minutes
- It is suitable for all skin types
- The product is hydrating and nourishing
Cons of Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask
- The packaging could be better as I don’t really like digging my fingers into the container every time.
- The price can seem like a bit much at the start for the size of the product, but as I mentioned earlier, it lasts forever.
Price of the Product and Packaging
The product is priced at INR 500 (USD 6.70) for 8 grams. It also comes in a bigger 20 grams pack. For a start, I decided to go with the 8 grams pack, but I am glad that I did for two reasons: it is much more affordable, and a small amount goes a really long way. I have been using it regularly for about four months now, and I think I have not even used half of it.
I'm used to using a squeeze tube to apply lip products, but this one comes in a little screw-off container. If you're worried about germs, the necessity to dip your finger over and over again can turn you off. I am not the biggest fan of the packaging, but I have to say that it is travel-friendly.
The Texture, Fragrance, and Moisture Retention
The texture is somewhere in between a thick moisturizer and a smooth lip balm. On application, it does feel a little sticky on the lips, but in 20-30 minutes, it starts to feel a little lighter on the lips. The product's fragrance is quite subtle, although I have read in many reviews that the fragrance can be a little too strong for some people. For me, I don’t mind it. I just scrape a tiny amount of the product and put it on my lips using my finger. My lips feel quite nourished, I have to say the next morning, but the effect doesn’t stay for a very long time, so I have been using this product regularly.
To be honest, I really liked the product, as it keeps my lips quite moisturized and healthy. It even contains a skin brightening ingredient, but I am yet to see any effect from this particular property of the product.
