How to Have Natural-Looking Face

My skin has changed as I've aged. I didn't notice it aging. It just sort of did it overnight. Well, that's how it seemed anyway. I hit 42, and I started to notice every little line and imperfection. They bothered me. They shouldn't have of course. Deep lines are part of us. We earn them with years of laughter if we're lucky. The sun does the rest of the damage, and most of us don't cotton on to the damaging effects of it until much later in life. What we should do is try to maintain our skin much earlier. We wait and then make a huge effort to reverse it!

When we start to show signs of aging, I believe that we should tone down a heavy base and go for something a little more flattering that allows our skin to breath and look like skin.

I have some deep lines around my eyes when I laugh and smile. So with that in mind, a full coverage foundation was just not cutting it for me anymore. My lines were looking way worse than they did before I applied the foundation because it was settling into the creases and drawing attention to them in a big way.

What Is the Best BB Cream for More Mature Skin?

BB creams quickly made an impact on the beauty world thanks to a successful combination of skincare and other beauty benefits. Some companies simply refer to them as balms, but the general idea behind these creams is that they provide hydration, SPF protection, and sheer coverage, thus preventing the need for separate products. That's the official line anyway

I have tried so many products. I was starting to think bb creams just weren't for the likes of older women. They were just for the youthful who didn't have to worry about lines and wrinkles, so looked good in anything.

What looks good on other women may not suit you. Skin is complex. Some of us have dry skin, some of us greasy and some a bit of both. So finding the best bb cream for your particular skin type takes some time and research. I am not blessed with patience when it comes to sourcing new products. I used to jump at the first recommendation I read and hope it would be the one. It rarely ever was.

The Best Beauty Products for a Dewy Glow

STQANON BB Cream Cushion Foundation Makeup Long Lasting Cover

This fantastically light BB cream comes like a compressed powder. It's not dry like I had thought it was going to be. It comes with a sponge that you press into the damp pad.

This is definitely the best light coverage cream I have used. It's really light, yet it does cover well. Sheer it may be, but dewy glow? Oh yes, and some.

I really can't adequately describe how much this light coverage bb cream makes me feel about my skin. It does just enough to smooth out the imperfections, and the glow it produces stays with me all day. Let's face it; when we look good, we feel good. Or is it the other way around?

The Best Dewy Concealer

Missha M Perfect Cover BB Cream No.21

This is not a concealer although I do use it under my eyes as it's just so illuminating and works to give that under-eye area a glow too whist still covering any darkness. I love this amazing product, and as you can see, I have been using it for quite some time.

I only use a tiny amount, and I blend it in with a make-up sponge. It's very easy to blend with your fingers if you don't use a blending sponge.

It's very pale; otherwise, I'd probably wear it all over my face from time to time if I fancied changing it up a bit. It's extremely creamy but at the same time very light. If your skin is very fair and you prefer a slightly fuller coverage, then this might work for your face as a whole, and you wouldn't even need a separate concealer.

Amazing Setting Powder

This amazingly powerful HD photo finishing powder, creates an illuminating finish to your makeup look, without the use of a photo filter. That's what they say, and that's exactly what it does. You can buy it from

I don't always use it, but on the occasions when I'm off for a well deserved night out, I will use it to set my base. It's very light, but it should not be considered if you like that very set look. It gives a set, but it's more of a light covering, and that's what I love about this awesome product. A powder that's not a powder!

I love my skincare and beauty routines, but as I've aged, I've tried to find a more natural look that suits my love of make-up.

It is possible to get the 'no makeup, makeup look' even on older skin.

As always, keep your skin hydrated. Drink plenty of water and use hydrating creams and oils for a more even complexion.
