LOOK. AT. HER. FACE. No one can talk me out of how stunning this young lady is. Skin, eyes, lips — everything. Girl, your parents did that. Let me stay on task, though.

I’m a big-time braid wearer. As I was looking at this tutorial, though, I must admit that if I ever had beads added to mine, it must’ve been when I was too young to remember. Doesn’t mean that I don’t think they’re dope. In fact, I once read that, in African culture, they represent wealth, spirituality and fertility.

So, let’s see how we can get them into our hair as soon as possible.

The more I watch this video, the more I get how excited braid-wearers everywhere must be to happen upon a tip like this because I can only image how frustrating it must be to get the tips of a braid into the tiny hole of a bead. Hmph. It’s probably a lot like trying to thread a needle. Well, now you know what needs to be done. Find yourself a bobby pin and you’re all good.

If you want to give this a shot but you don’t really like the selection of beads that are at your local beauty supply store (some of them look kind of “kiddie”, so I get it), Etsy has a nice variety. Just go to the site and put “braid beads” in the search field or click here.

And again, @andreawiththecurls, it can’t be said enough how beautiful you — and your braid out — is. Bravo, sis.
