True confession. I’ve never worn a slip dress before. It’s not that I don’t think they’re pretty (they are); it’s just that satin is such a — oh, what word should I go with? — revealing fabric that I feel I would be fidgeting in it all of the time if I tried to wear one. Well, at least one with nothing else but it on my body.

However, now that I’ve seen @arminarshe model a few other ways to wear it, who knows? Over the next few months, I just might give it a shot.

Hmm. I’m not sure why I never considered actually layering a slip dress for the fall and winter seasons because layering is one of my favorite (fashion-related) things to do. But now that I’m looking at some of these looks, they have definitely offered up some inspiration.

Even beyond these three ideas, maybe I could pair a slip dress with a flannel shirt and some boots, a denim jacket or even a tweet blazer. Or how about a long slip dress, an oversized sweatshirt and a skull cap? Or a long slip dress with a cardigan? OK, now my mind is racing all over the place!

I don’t know about you, but I’m always down for some tips on how to “stretch” an article of clothing so that I don’t have to spend as much cash; especially when a new season fast approaching. That’s why I’m grateful that I saw this.

Perhaps now I can finally cross “owning a slip dress” off of my fashion-themed bucket list. Very cool.
