If you are an avid user of social media and the internet, you know that having a "beat face" is the new or trendy way of enhancing your beauty.

Natural beauty is slowly but surely trying to make a comeback due to shocking statistics and studies that have been conducted on products with harmful ingredients.

What most women do not realize is that there are a number of everyday items around the house that you can use in your beauty routine.

Whether you are looking to save money or limit your use of harmful products, here are some useful hacks to get you started on a more natural beauty routine.

1. Clear Skin Using Baking Soda

What You Will Need:

  • Small bowl
  • Small spoon or Popsicle stick
  • 1/2 cup Baking soda
  • 1 cup Water
  • 1 teaspoon Coconut oil -this ingredient is optional

Empty a 1/2 cup of baking soda into a small bowl. Add 1 teaspoon of coconut oil. Slowly add water and stir the mix until you have a paste-like consistency. Using your hands, spread the mixture across your face and gently rub in for about 30 seconds, depending on your level of sensitivity. Please do not let it sit or scrub too hard.

When your time is up, wash the mixture off with water. Make sure that all residue is completely off. Finish off with your choice of moisturizer.

2. Coconut Oil Face Moisturizer

What you will need:

  • A small bowl
  • A small spoon or small electronic mixer
  • 1-2 cups of coconut oil
  • Any three essential oils

Empty all ingredients in your small bowl and mix. Blend together until you reach a creamy and airy-like consistency. It should appear almost like a heavy whipped cream. If there are any clumps as you are mixing, add more oil to the mix. Store in a mason jar or a tight seal container.

3. Castor Oil for Thicker and Longer Lashes

What you will need:

  • small travel bottle or empty nail polish container
  • Clean mascara wand
  • 1/2 teaspoon of castor oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon of vitamin e oil

Mix all of the ingredients together in the container or bottle using your mascara wand. Using the mascara wand, apply a thin layer on your upper and lower lash areas. Be sure to only use a small amount since castor oil is rather thick and hard to remove. Apply your mixture at night and wash off in the morning.

5. Shea Butter Body Moisturizer

What you will need:

  • a small bowl
  • small electric mixer or wisk
  • 1 cup raw Shea butter
  • 1/2 cup coconut oil
  • 1/4 cup jojoba oil
  • 30 drops of any essential oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon vitamin e oil

Before you begin, you may want to melt your Shea butter for easier mixing.

You can do this putting your cup of Shea butter in a small glass bowl. Then grab a larger bowl and fill it with hot water. Place the bowl with Shea butter in the hot water until it melts.

Next, take the your bowl of Shea butter out of the larger bowl of hot water. Empty your essential oil, coconut oil, vitamin e oil, and jojoba oil into the bowl of Shea butter. Mix all ingredients until you get creamy and light consistency.

Store your new body butter in a mason jar or glass container with a tight lid. Keep in a cool place.

6. Strawberries for Whiter Teeth

What you need:

  • Small cutting board
  • a small bowl
  • a small mixing spoon
  • 1 strawberry
  • 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda

Use your cutting board to slice your strawberry into small pieces. Place your cut up strawberries in a small bowl.

Add baking soda to the bowl of strawberries. Use your mixing spoon to smash up and mix the ingredients until you get a paste-like consistency. It should resemble the look of regular toothpaste.

Use your finger to spread the mixture across you top and bottom teeth. Let this sit for no more than 5 minutes. Rinse your mouth with water and brush your teeth as normal. Can be done no more than two times a week.

7. Apple Cider Vinegar for Soft Feet

What you will need:

  • Hand Towel or small towel
  • Large wooden spoon
  • 1 cup of Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 1 gallon of warm water
  • A large bowl or dish bucket

In your large bowl combine ACV and warm water. Use a large wooden spoon to mix. Soak both feet in the mixture for 20 minutes. Take feet out and pat dry with a small hand towel. Repeat once or twice a day for softer feet.

8. Sugar Scrub for Smooth Legs

What you will need:

  • small bowl
  • wooden or small spoon
  • 1 lemon
  • 1/2 cup coconut oil
  • 1-1/4 cup of sugar

In a small bowl, squeeze the juice of your entire lemon. Combine the coconut oil and sugar. Use your spoon to mix until you get a creamy or paste-like consistency.
Use your hands to spread the mixture all over your legs and gently rub in for a minute. Wash off with water and finish off with your favorite lotion or body cream.

9. Cucumbers for Puffy Eyes

What you will need:

  • small cucumber

10. Beets for Lip Stain

What you will need:

  • 1 beet
  • electric mixer or juicer
  • muslin cloth or small screen strainer
  • old lip gloss container
  • clean lip roller or lip gloss stick

Neat suggestions...some I hadn't heard of. FYI, your pic of a cucumber is really a zucchini :)
