The Best Tanning Lotions

First of all, my biggest advice for anyone looking to buy a tanning lotion of any kind is to stay away from any tanning products with a Jersey Shore character on it. This means Pauly D, JWOW, Snookie, etc. Just because they are well known for being tan and famous from being on reality television does not mean that a product with their name on it will be quality.

With that said, the following is from my personal experience and reviews of the top tanning product in each category: indoor, outdoor, and sunless.

All three of these products can be found on Amazon and I highly recommend looking there first since the prices are some of the best I've seen.

Fake Bake Flawless

Fake Bake Flawless is a self tanning product. So if you don't want to hassle with the sun or a tanning bed, this is one of your best options.

It is actually really easy to apply yourself and get an even and natural color. Fake Bake comes with an application mitt and is not to be used directly on the skin. The mitt makes it easier to get an even amount of the lotion on your entire body. Also, since the lotion has a bronzer in it, you can actually see where you have applied it already.

The best part about this lotion is it dries faster than most lotions and absorbs quickly too. You don't have to hang out in your room half naked for hours waiting for it to dry so you can get dressed and go out. Your skin looks tan as soon as you're done and it wont smudge on your clothes.

The down side is that if you have not shaved or you have any rough skin, the applicator mitt may leave little fuzziness on you. Also, you must be sure to wash the mitt after every time you use it.

Australian Gold Accelerator Lotion

Australian Gold products have been my favorite since I was a teen in Florida trying to get my sexy tan on.

You can get it in a spray bottle or in a squirt bottle depending on which you prefer. I think the spray bottle makes it much easier and less messy.

Since this tanning oil has vitamins and minerals in it, you get an added bonus of extra soft skin when you use it to tan.

Since this oil works so quickly to give you a nice deep tan, you don't have to sit outside in the heat for a long time to get the same results as others I have tried. This can be a pro and a con however. I would only suggest using in it short time spans like 30 minutes. This will help you avoid the risks of skin cancer and burning that results in your skin peeling.

The best way to use this is a couple times per week for about 30 minutes to maintain a great color. But, for those who are just starting out on tanning, this will quickly make you burn. Those with fair skin or those who burn easy should start out with a lotion that doesn't contain an accelerator and does have an SPF in it.

Solid Black Bronzer Tanning Bed Lotion

Solid Black has a great mix of strong bronzers and moisturizers to give you amazing tan and soft skin, fast. If you already have a good base tan, this is what you need to quickly get the deep tan your looking for with only a few sessions in the tanning bed.

The best part about this lotion, in my opinion, is the smell. I always seem to smell different once I get done tanning but this lotion makes the smell not noticeable and even smells good. I don't even have to use a lotion since my skin is extra soft after using Solid Black. I save money this way by not having to buy two different products which is a huge plus.

Please, compare the price of the lotions available on Amazon before you spend extra money at the tanning salon. This exact lotion or any that are comparable in tanning ability are double, if not triple, the price at the salon. It is outrageous how much they charge. When I found Solid Black online, I jumped at the price. It is almost unheard of to find a tanning bed lotion for that price that works this well.

A lot of tanning bed lotions leave you that creepy orange color but this one doesn't. The tan looks like a natural golden brown. You can't even tell that it's not from the sun. I look great year round because of Solid Black and would recommend it to anyone and everyone.

The only bad thing about Solid Black is that, because it has a bronzer, it can sometimes build up and leave little dark spots if you don't rub it in all the way. It usually fades after a few showers or with some lemon juice. But, to make sure you get the best color, don't use too much and make sure it is rubbed in all the way. Don't just gob it on and start tanning.

Which one are you going to try?
